ECU | BMW S1000RR 2019+ (K67)

Tools:

  • TX25
  • Side cutter
  • Screwdriver

Procedure:

ECU | BMW S1000RR (K46) and S1000R (K47)

Figure shows ECU without plastic frame

Tools:

  • TX25
  • Side cutter
  • 2x Cable ties for installation

Procedure:

  1. 5x / 7x (depending on the model) loosen the TX25 screws on the front tank cover and remove the front tank cover
  2. 1x remove TX25 screw from ECU frame
  3. Disconnect plug connection to secondary air pump (small plug to the right of the ECU)
  4. Pull off left tank breather hose and slightly pull ECU together with plastic frame a bit to the front
  5. Cut 2x cable ties which secures plastic frame together with engine wiring harness
  6. Pull off 2x ECU connector (sliding mechanism)
  7. Unclip ECU from plastic frame

ECU | BMW S1000XR (K49)

Tools:

  • TX25
  • TX30
  • side cutter
  • 1x cable tie for installation

Procedure:

  1. Remove seat
  2. 1x Remove the TX25 screw from the scuff guard behind the fuel tank and pull off the scuff guard to the rear
  3. 1x Release TX25 fixing screw (front inside over radiator) for painted left-side trim
  4. Unclip the painted trim on the left and remove
  5. Loosen 8x TX25 fixing screws of left unpainted panel
  6. Release left turn signal cable
  7. Lever out left unpainted panel and secure against folding down (eg with expander or wire)
  8. Release connector below ECU
  9. Unscrew 3x TX30 screw which connect ECU frame with vehicle frame
  10. Pull the ECU frame slightly down and pull off the ECU connector (sliding mechanism, first remove the smaller one)
  11. Release ECU from lower two clips of plastic frame and pull ECU out of frame

ECU | BMW R nineT

Tools:

  • TX25
  • TX30
  • TX45

Procedure:

ECU | BMW F750 GS (K80)

Tools:

  • TX25
  • TX40
  • side cutter
  • Socket wrench SW10
  • 1x cable tie for installation

Procedure:

  1. Remove seat
  2. Loosen 4x TX40 screw from luggage rack
  3. Loosen 4x TX40 screw from rear upper shell
  4. Detach 2x TX25 from control unit carrier
  5. Disconnect 1x cable tie
  6. Unplug fuses
  7. Disconnect the keyless antenna
  8. Pull off the SAF control unit
  9. Loosen 2x TX25 and remove battery holder
  10. Detach the negative cable from the battery (SW10) and remove the battery (positive cable can remain if the battery is only tilted to the side as shown in the picture)
  11. Disconnect 2x cable ties on the control unit carrier behind the battery, unclip the ECU from the carrier downwards and pull out the carrier backwards
  12. Loosen the ECU connector and pull out ECU to the rear

Instrument cluster / dashboard | BMW (S1000, R1200)

Tools:

  • Nose pliers

Procedure:

  1. If necessary disassemble windshield
  2. For disassembly of instrument cluster / dashboard: watch video (click on figure)

Instrument cluster TFT / dashboard | BMW (S1000, R1250, ...)

Tools:

  • Nose pliers

Procedure:

  1. If necessary disassemble windshield
  2. If necessary pull-off dashboard cover (e.g. as shown in picture for S1000RR 2019+)
  3. Disassemble securing clip with nose plies
  4. Pull-out dashboard from frame towards handlebars
  5. Pull-off electric connector
  6. Recommendation: Pull-out coding plug and store it while your dashboard is processed from us (can easily be bend)
